Breastfeeding Support

While we know breastfeeding isn’t possible for every mama, we do encourage breastfeeding when it works for you and your baby. Beyond being a wonderful bonding experience, breastfeeding offers many health benefits: it lowers the risk of allergies, illness, and obesity, and even protects against diseases like diabetes and certain cancers. Breastfed babies also tend to have fewer ear infections and stomach issues. If you’re nursing, it’s best to avoid pacifiers and bottles during the first two weeks to help establish a strong latch. And remember, you’re never alone in this journey—we’re happy to weigh your baby at any of our clinics, free of charge, so you can feel confident about their growth.

We are very fortunate to have a team dedicated to supporting you. Alicia Nix, CRNP, has been helping mamas breastfeed for over 20 years, and we try to have her see your baby at the first visit in our main office. You can also request her at any time.

In addition, Brittany Newton, a registered nurse and Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, has been with us for 17 years. As a mama who navigated breastfeeding with her own baby’s lip tie, she brings both expertise and empathy to families. You can reach Brittany by phone with your questions, ask to see her at any appointment, or schedule a visit with her directly at our main office.

We also have Lauren Murray. She is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor. Lauren has been with the practice for 10 years. She works at the Russellville office primarily. She is passionate about supporting breastfeeding mothers, drawing from her own experiences as a mother who has navigated breastfeeding challenges with both of her children. She breastfed her first child for 14 months and is currently breastfeeding her 7-month-old baby. Mothers can contact her by phone with questions, ask to see her at appointments, or schedule an appointment with her at the Russellville office.
